10月13日讯 官方消息，33岁前阿森纳中场威尔希尔出任英甲球队卢顿的主帅。克里斯-鲍威尔担任其助教。
威尔希尔表示：“能够被任命为卢顿队主教练，我感到非常荣幸。对我来说，这感觉就像一个圆满的时刻。我八岁时第一次来到卢顿，所以我想你可以说，我的第一份全职俱乐部管理职位是在这家俱乐部，这完全是命中注定的事情。我非常高兴来到这里，我迫不及待地想管理这家足球俱乐部。”
卢顿上赛季从英冠不幸降级，本赛季他们在英甲11轮5胜1平5负积16分暂居积分榜第11位。
球员时期威尔希尔就出自卢顿青训，2001年他离开卢顿青训加入阿森纳青训，球员生涯效力过阿森纳、博尔顿、伯恩茅斯、西汉姆联等队。
2022年退役后威尔希尔走上教练岗位，他已拥有阿森纳U18队的执教经验，并在上赛季末短暂担任诺维奇的临时主帅。
