11月28日获悉，45岁的前国脚郑智接手青岛西海岸一事已成定局。另外两名前国脚黄博文、李雷雷亦将分别作为助教、守门员教练确定辅佐郑智执教西海岸。此外，郑智还可能邀请一名外教一同执教。

郑智1980年8月20日出生于辽宁省沈阳市，出自辽宁青年队，生涯主要司职后腰，曾效力深圳平安（深圳健力宝）、山东鲁能、查尔顿、凯尔特人、广州恒大（广州队），赢得的冠军荣誉包括2次亚冠、10次中超、2次足协杯、4次超级杯。郑智在2002、2006年荣膺中国足球先生，2013年加冕亚洲足球先生。

2021年12月7日，郑智出任广州队执行主教练兼球员。2022年1月，41岁的郑智出战广州队vs长春亚泰的中超比赛，这是他职业生涯最后一次出场。2022年8月，郑智出任广州队主教练。 2023年2月27日，郑智出任国足助教。随着伊万离任，郑智也退出国足助教团队。
